Methi Fish (Fenugreek)

Ingredients

  • 500 grams Fish cut into slices or pieces (You can choose any variety of fish that you prefer)
  • 3 Bunches Methi Leaves (pick the leaves n some stems and cut them into bite size)
  • 2 Medium Onions (finely sliced)
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 2 Inch Ginger (finely minced)
  • 3 Pips Chopped Garlic ( finely minced)
  • 2 Tomatoes (finely chopped)
  • 2 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garam Masala Powder
  • 2 teaspoon Green chillies (chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander Powder
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Oil

Instructions

  1. Apply little salt and turmeric powder to the fish.
  2. Heat oil in a kadai and fry the fish till golden brown. Place the fish on a paper towel and set aside.
  3. In the same oil, fry the onion till golden brown. Next add in the green chili, ginger garlic paste and tomatoes. Cook till the tomatoes are mushy.
  4. Next add in the turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, salt and garam masala powder.
  5. Throw in the methi / fenugreek leaves and cook till the leaves change it's color.
  6. Add in a cup of water and cook for a minute. Now add the fried fish. and cook till all the masala is coated to the fish.
